Mixed-Use Complex -  Carmel

The owner of this property in the Carmel business district demolished two existing houses on the site, with the intent of constructing condominiums.

Congleton Architect proposed developing the   property as two separate parcels, each containing a commercial space, owners residence, and a rental cottage.  Parking is submerged within the site, with shared access.  The owner’s units enjoy ocean views and large interior spaces.  The 450 square-foot rental cottages, located at the rear of the site, are very private and reflective of old-time Carmel summer houses.  The commercial spaces face the street and can be used as retail or office space.

The project is designed in the craftsman style, with a pallet of materials and masses reflective of Carmel’s heritage.
